Casting / Audition Details:

In collaboration with NDC Productions and in recognition of Black August and the birth of activist and revolutionary, Fred Hampton (August 30, 1948), the Auburn Avenue Research Library will host a stage reading of The Chairman by playwright Nykieria Chaney. 

The Chairman is a play about Black Panther Party Chairman Fred Hampton and how he was assassinated by the FBI December 4, 1969. Fred Hampton was an activist and a revolutionary that was successful in organizing youth for the NAACP and eventually rose to Chairman of the Illinois chapter of the Black Panther Party and Deputy Chairman of the National organization..

We are currently seeking actors for the staged reading.

Chairman Fred Hampton - AA 19-25

Deborah Johnson - Chairman Fred Hampton fiance - AA 19-30

Roy Miller - FBI Agent - W - Any

William ONeale - Black Panther informant - AA - Any

Bobby Rush - Black Panther Party member - AA - Any
