Get back to basics with this class!
Week 1: Looking at each other in the Eye
Seems like such a simple concept. Yet so many people are uncomfortable looking at others in the eye for an extended period of time. Especially upon first meeting. Yet, this industry requires actors to do just that in auditions and on set. You may just have been introduced to your acting partner, but be required to look at them in the eye for the duration of the scene. The first week of this class contains acting exercises that work on this skill!
Week 2: Focusing
Could you focus while a crowd was yelling at the top of their lungs? Would you be able to sustain your character if bombs were exploding around you? As an actor, you are required to keep your focus and say your lines no matter what else is going on around you on set. This week, we test your focusing ability!
Week 3: Range of Emotions
Do you have a wide range of emotions? When you think of anger-do you automatically go towards yelling? There are many different levels of anger, from the slow simmering anger to the out and out screaming. How adept are you at portraying all the different levels? This week tests how many levels of several emotions you can convincingly portray!
